Interesting take, seems like a very complex process for a potential sale down the river. I see the spilt the other way, Netflix is spinning off the DVD business to later sell the DVD part and build out the streaming part. I don’t see Netfix wanting to sell the streaming business, but rather to ditch the brick and mortar DVD business.

The tablet will allow Amazon customers to easily watch videos, read electronic books and listen to digital music they purchase or rent from the online retailer.
I wonder if Amazon will release a full featured tablet to compete with Apple, or rather release an inexpensive special purpose tablet to consume Amazon content, like the Kindle. One that might be sold as part of a subscription offering or free to frequent buyers.

I guess it was only a matter of time before Netflix changed their pricing. I have a feeling this is going to really drive streaming plans and connected boxes (apple tv and roku) as Netflix shrinks it’s physical footprint.
